There is always a problem with what Smith meant.   He also said that there
was an invisible hand of charity but I ain't seen it yet.

That only works for blacksmiths and when the rod is red-hot.  For ordinary
mortals  and a cold iron rod, you gots to bend it *further* back in order
for it to be straight.
