Aren't you two on-line addicts supposed to be heading for high ground
shelter?
I heard the awful news this morning. Do you still have power or are you
communicating, with limited time, on a battery?
We had a 7.7 earthquake Sat evening up island, and a Tsunami warning
that we didn't hear about till we saw the paper next morning.
After Fukushima, all the media talk was about preparedness. Now it's the
same conversation.
Not many people in the area heard because they were /broadcasting/
primarily by internet. Few heard the loudspeaker systems.
Hope you're OK tonight.

I think that Smith was referring to trees and branches.

If the rod be bent too much one way, says the proverb, in order to
make it straight you must bend it as much the other. Adam Smith
That only works for blacksmiths and when the rod is red-hot. For ordinary
mortals and a cold iron rod, you gots to bend it *further* back in order
for it to be straight.
