Aha! An explanation at last! When I was in grad school my mentor was a rather formidable, well-known Canadian economist. When reviewing drafts of my thesis, he would look me in the eye and tell me "Weick, you'll never be an economist. Forget it, you're nothing but a journalist." I tried very hard, but I could never seem to satisfy him or figure out what he meant. I think I now know. He relied on economics, and I just wrote about it. Ed Weick
