Agree.  Can't get the cheerleader image of Gore the geek supporting Clinton
on the lawn of the White House.  That was the time he should have been
conspicous by his absence or said some diplomatically distancing thing to
project a strong image of concern.

You can't treat a crook honorably. Gore's mistake was that he failed to
distance himself early and sincerely from Clinton.

 Gore blew it badly, for several reasons (which I would suggest are:
failure to treat Clinton honorably; failure to have 
confidence in himself; too respectful a treatment of Bush). He lost it,
rather than Bush won it.
