Harry,

We weren't discussing the root cause at the time of your
"Pox on you" response. Why would you presume I am unaware
of the primary cause? We were discussing capitalism and its effects on
these people. Cause is a whole other topic, and not just as simple
as "home-grown racism", but there we agree in part: getting at the
cause is key. Alleviating symptoms is what is done out of compassion,
much like your allopathic physician continues to do when
you come to her/him with symptoms of a much bigger problem.
If you don't get the relief, it is impossible to have strength to go on
and take care of the root cause.

Rather than honouring their workers for helping
giant companies grow even bigger, the capitalists simply use
them for dirt cheap labour. If in addition to the pittance they
give, they were to commence local economic projects, ones that
use the local skills and resources to help provide sustainable
economy, then when the giants pack up and leave, there could
still be work. That would constitute the beginnings of real healing.
Certainly the workers were cheaper slaves when the corps. moved in;
that's why the corps. relocated in the first place. Without creating
substantive change, they are merely perpetuating the problem,
and worse still, when the corporation loses momentum, the
false economy they set up invariably falls flat, as Selma said.

Have a real vacation, Harry. While you're at it, kindly consider what
is the root cause of your need to personally insult others, even those like
Darryl,
who made absolutely no contribution to these exchanges. Your line of
questioning
is truly what is questionable, or else you are not even reading mainstream
news.

Natalia
