In eastern philosophy, the word for this condition is "dharma", which
has a lot of connotation folded into it, but essentially suggests
working in the way that people were meant to work, in harmony with
their spiritual needs and aspirations. Living dharmically is
understood to be an active contribution to spiritual growth.
It is one of the directives of the Bhudda's "eightfold path"
to enlightenment, usually translated as "right livelihood".
