I was wondering the same. When I started to think about how to implement
this patch, two options came to my mind:
1.- implement it as it is now
2.- implement it as a new option into ItemFormat (not as a similar command,
but into ItemFormat itself).
The second one did not seem logical to me, because it's not about the format
of a menu item, so that wouldn't make much sense. Implementing a new command
as a clone of the ItemFormat could work, but in my opinion, it's not the most
elegant solution to configure just three parameters. I could change my opinion
about that if there were a couple more of params to configure, though...
