OS? Other peripherals? Bluetooth and wireless on or off? >Will boot fine. Will not wake up from sleep when lid is closed then >reopened. I tried all options in Energy Saver, even no sleep at all. >Same behaviour whether powered by battery or AC. Does the latch light pulse properly once the lid is closed, to indicate that it entered deep sleep properly? Will it wake from sleep if slept from the Apple menu? IOW, the hood latch not involved. Try trashing the power manager prefs, rebooting, then resetting them. /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ Check the system log. If it's not a total PMU failure, then there should be at least something there. Try running a few passes with Memtest (comes with AppleJack). Long shot, but I've had a few wake failures on PBs because the PMU couldn't kick-start the memory properly. They showed periodic errors with Memtest. Might be worth re-seating the memory too. How old is the backup battery? ... really shouldn't make a diff for this, tho; another long shot.
