Did you run Disk Utility - Check Disk on it. This laptop would twiddle it's thumbs for a long time with very poor performance. This would occur every day at 12 AM so it was triggered by some maintenance function. When I ran Disk Utility it showed up some kind of directory error. Booting off of the DVD-ROM and doing a disk repair fixed the directory problem and made the slow down go away. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting "I'm a designated driver on the Information Super Highway" --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to Low End Mac's G-Books list, a group for those using G3 iBooks and PowerBooks (we run a separate list for G4 'Books).
