I don't know about the WD one, but several of the bus-powered 2.5" hdds I've seen come with additional USB cables to provide power; they tap both USB ports for power. Replacing the HDD in a pismo isn't too hard, either. I promptly replaced the original tiny one in mine with an 80G samsung drive (iirc) It's still going strong last time I checked (someone else owns it now) -- Bruce Johnson "Wherever you go, there you are" B.
