I'm running OS 10.4.11 with no problems and no XPost Facto on this Tangerine Clamshell. I think the VLC is a real potentially viable solution (thanks, Kris & Bruce). The main problem I'm having is getting my optical drives to physically function in the machine. I first tried a tray-loading combo drive from G3 iBook. This seems to work until I get the Clamshell all buttoned up and then the tray has a difficult time opening and closing (no bezel and the one I have is not compatible with a Clamshell). I then swapped out the tray-loader for a slot loader which I pulled out of my Intel mini. It popped right in with no problem (other than the obvious pain of swapping out the optical drive harness/cage). The CD's & DVD's pop right into the slot loader with no problem (OK, it's ugly as sin with no bezel. . .). However, the drive will automatically eject a DVD after a 30 seconds or so and the CD will mount and open in iTunes but not play. Odd, huh?
