For youtube download I use the icab filter, and I save the mp4 format
rather than flash. For standalone flash player, VLC or Wimpy or
NicePlayer, but mp4 looks much better. VLC has good altivec support,
Nice Player has the best flash support (and the best picture usually).
Also, the videos play fine in the browser with 1.25 ghz MDD on a
medium speed DSL connection.
Flash itself is extremely inefficient, and the mac adobe on top of
that makes it really bad.
