That's what I did. I haven't used it much under Tiger but it seemed to run well. It does okay with Debian. > > I am just playing for now, but that is my long term idea (I have some > upgrades for the Gig-E to buy first) > >> Odd, but I did have trouble trying to install Debian Linux on it. I never have played with it before. I should have said I did get Linux installed on it, it has both Tiger and Debian 5 on it. I used a USB CD/DVD-ROM drive to install it. And I don't know if the problem I was having with the internal CD-ROM drive was unique to that machine or not. I don't recall if I tried it or not but if the problem does happen to you, you could try using a Network Install disk. This has a minimum of files on the CD and does most of the installation downloading it from the Internet. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting "I'm a designated driver on the Information Super Highway" --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are a member of G-Books, a group for those using G3 iBooks and PowerBooks (we run a separate list for G4 'Books).
