Hi All,

I don't know much about iBooks as I've never owned one, so I'm hoping
somebody can recognize this problem and tell me whether it can be
fixed easily.

My sister has a G3 iBook, I'm guessing 500mhz 12", that she hasn't
been able to use for quite a few years. When I visited her last
holiday I played with it a bit and discovered that as long as I
squeezed the lower RH corner of the case, or leaned on that area with
my elbow, it would boot and run just fine. But as soon as I released
the pressure it would go completely dark. No problem rebooting again
as long as it was squeezed.

She's a PC now, but if I could recover the data on her hard drive for
her I would be a minor Hero. I'm sure I could pull the drive and put
it in a case or something, or just use a big c-clamp until the data is
copied, but is there any hope of saving the 'book itself?

Thanks!
Owen in Wichita
