The iBooks used the main battery as the PRAM battery, so when the battery died 
it forgot the date and time.

Reset the date& time properly or set it to be updated automatially.

Try a definite PRAM reset (Command-Option-P-R) as the battery runningdown may 
have left it in an indeterminate state.

The wrong date could be the cause of the Firefox error.
