The maximum capacity is 256 MB (pre-Pismo) or 512 MB (Pismo) per stick, not 128 MB per stick. That (old) spec dates back to the days when 128 MB was, indeed, the largest then-available SO-DIMM.

Wallstreet and Lombard requires one large format and one small- format, or two small format sticks, your choice. Only one slot can accommodate a large format stick.

Pismo requires one or two large or small format sticks, as the entire CPU card was re-arted for two large format sticks.
