Is there a way to get a 512 stick to run in a Wally?

Yes if you are into hardware hacking, a 256M stick is arranged as 2
banks, and a 512M as 4 banks if I recall correctly (it is a long time
since I played about with similar things.) you would need to wire the
second set of bank select lines from the one socket to the other, then
you should be able to use 512M BUT you will loose the use of the other slot.
Alternatively if you can get the spec's for the memory controller chip
you may find that it has the extra lines there but not wired to the
slots, if that is the case (not very likely,) then you could possibly
create a Wallstreet with 1G of ram.
Without any hacking a suitable 512M stick will only be seen as 256M
(However depending on it's layout and chip density it may not be seen at
all!)
