Yes, but you can overclock your clamshell iBook using the links I provided before. I don't know if these tiny resistors are all zero ohm, but I suspect they are. If they're zero ohm, you don't need to solder, although soldering works best IF you have the correct equipment. There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to solder these tiny resistors correctly.
You can cut off resistors that need to be removed with any sharp small instrument, I've used a tiny jewelry screwdriver that was sharpened to an edge. An Exacto knife, or any small sharp blade would probably work if you're careful. You can create the zero ohm jumper using a conductive ink pen instead of soldering. I've had luck using the end of a toothpick with the metallic conductive ink on it, the ink pen tip is pretty big for these tiny jumpers.
I think most common overclocks for the clamshell will be supported for the new speed in About this Mac without resorting to patching the NVRAM. If you need to patch the NVRAM, it can be done with the same instructions you followed before with the appropriate #'s for the frequencies.
