I bought a Generic battery on Ebay that fits the Pismo this past fall. It works great but has nowhere near the time limit it generalizes in the product technical info.
It stated 6-8 hours but you can at most get around 2.5 hours at very general use. If I'm using Final Cut Pro 3 and web surfing ect the time can be as little as an hour. Of course depends on what you are doing and I use the Pismo as a tool alot so I must keep the Power Cord close by. There has been no problems and that link about putting new cells into the case is great.
