Seconded. Most PowerPC based mac laptops struggle with modern HTML. Rendering 
CSS and executing JavaScript is very processor intensive. Any MacBook would 
handle the pages more successfully. My 2007 Santa Rosa MacBook is still a joy 
to use.  

Have you also looked at emulating classic? Never needed to myself, but that 
would work reasonably well.
