Yes, it's probably a situation where your hard drive's getting ready to fail. A better utility than DiskWarrior is Drive Genius, which does a really good bad sector test and also does read and write integrity checks. Whenever a hard drive starts needing DiskWarrior directory repair and begins throwing "volume information" errors, I immediately subject it to thorough Drive Genius checks. BTW, if you do decide to replace the hard drive, DO NOT buy a SATA hard drive. iBook G4s use PATA hard drives, the ones with multiple pin connectors. The successor MacBooks all use SATA drives with the large and small flat connectors.
