Any one else have this problem or could otherwise help me on this? Hi, when you say "start into Mac OS 10.4", assuming this from the internal HD, then try from a OS boot disk if you have one. Otherwise, if you have another Mac, try target disk mode via firewire. A 3rd solution would be an external IEEE 1394 system disk.
