Oh, Bruce...it's you. As ever so helpful. I reset the power manager, and how I did not think of doing that is beyond me. But I've done it. Now we have blinking led on the battery. It says 10:00. We will see how that goes.
The buzzing continues. While I was in there, I removed the cables to the speakers, it continued. The only time it stopped was when I pulled a set of wires. Look at the second picture in this ifixit link below. You will see that down from the dc plug is the modem connector and behind that you see a white connector on the board that has red, yellow, wires, wrapping around the speaker. When I removed that on that end or the other end of the daughterboard, the buzzing stopped.
