The second picture at that link is of the top of the main section (with 
keyboard) being removed, Step 10.  Which step is it you are referring to and 
can you be more specific about the components.  

What does the cable in question go to?

Try digging through iFixit disassembly instructions for that model.  One of 
them might identify that cable by name.  I'd start with the speaker disassembly 
instructions.
