Thanks for the reply, but I'm asking about converters for using an mSATA or 
PCI-E drive in an IDE PowerBook.

Just thinking of another approach, does anyone know if the Lexmark Firewire 
CompactFlash reader, with a suitable CF card, can be used as a boot device 
for the Pismo? This reader seems to go for under £10 on UK eBay.

I am aware of the existence of CompactFlash to IDE converters, of course, 
but my experience with those to date has been unsuccessful...
