Best guesses are:

An internal connector is dislodged.  It works initially but after it warms up 
thermal expansion causes a connection to open up.  The solution is to open it 
up (not for the feint of heart) and disconnect and reconnect all internal 
connectors. 

or...

A circuit trace on a PC board is cracked withe similar results to the above. 
The solution is to open it up, find the failed trace (not easy) and repair it.
