I have a G4 iBook that had a loose video chip. Unfortunately, neither my son nor I can remember the exact symptoms, as it was at least 6 years ago that I fixed it. I actually reflowed the solder joints to the chip by hand (magnifiers, soldering skills, fine-tip iron, and no coffee). It's been chugging away booted from an external drive ever since my son replaced it in 2011.
IIRC, this is the page that I used for instructions: http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/tips/iBookG4_vreg_repair/ibookG4_vreg_repair.html - Don On Feb 26, 2016, 2:41 PM -0500, Kris Tilford<[email protected]>, wrote: > I agree with Clark.
