When I boot up to the 9.1 cd to install the software on a clean hard drive, the installer script tells me that it doesn't recognize the computer, to please use the software that came with it. OS 8.1 installs on a clean hard drive from the installer cd (while booted up to the cd) just fine. I built this machine from the ground up. It's in a 7500 box to make installing components easier. I have an 8500 mainboard and A/V module, 150Mhz 604 processor (not sure if it's 604e), 64MB RAM on 4 16MB DIMMs interleaved, a 1GB Quantum HD, 4X Matshita CD ROM drive, PM7500 power supply, and no cards in any of the slots. Just about factory specs, right? I could install it via network, if I wanted. I just wanna know why OS 9.1 doesn't recognize this computer.
