I'm pretty sure you could go as high as 512 MB without any problem. The only gotcha is that if you go higher than 512, you might not be able to put the computer to sleep and hope to swap batteries if you don't have access to AC power. The reason is that the additional amount of memory requires more power than what can be delivered by the backup battery in your laptop. For some people, it's not a problem, specially if they're using their laptop mostly with the AC adapter, but someone having to run on batteries might be inconvenienced if he has to swap a discharged battery for a charged one while without access to AC power. That would mean you would have to shutdown the computer. As for a source, I've always been very satisfied with Data Memory Systems <http://www.datamem.com/>. They don't always have the very best prices but they are usually close. Plus, when I bought from them, they had next day delivery for $7 by Airborne Express. Remember that you have 2 memory slots on your PDQ. One is easily reachable over the processor card, but the other is underneath that same processor card, so you have to remove it to access the slot. -Laurent. -- =========================================================================== Laurent Daudelin Developer, Multifamily, ESO, Fannie Mae mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Washington, DC, USA ************************* Usual disclaimers apply ************************* guru n.: [Unix] An expert.
