Brent, is it possible that the drive is just not getting enough power through the USB bus? Perhaps you've got some other things on the same bus that are sharing power? If there is a way to externally supply power to the enclosure, that may help matters.

thought the smart thing to do would be to get a USB drive enclose
(USAP usb 2.0 mac/pc) and use it for backup or storage.
My problem is that once I connect the enclosure to my desktop G4
Quicksilver it mounts OK but as soon as I attempt to copy anything to
the drive it hangs (freezes finder).
