You pay for quality--and speed!
I have a 15" and am quite happy. I researched both the iBook and the PowerBook. They are both real nice and fast but you will wish you had gotten the PowerBook later. If you can afford the PB over the iBook then definitely go with it. I did not have the money to get a 80 GB drive, superdrive or backlight keyboard. I wish I had. I did get more RAM (512) and I also had AP Extreme installed. One other suggestion: get AppleCare for the product you buy. It is definitely worth it even though it is a sizable bite.
