Shouldn't be a problem. My new eMac (with an extreme card) talks just fine to my non-extreme graphite base station.

Same thing here, my PowerBook 17 with an AirPort Extreme card works fine
with my Snow base station...

IIRC an Apple Tech said that the systems would work but they would run at the slower speed and there was a greater chance of disconnections etc because of the speed drops...I am still using the graphite base and the original Airport cards in the Pismo and this iMac SE 400...along with a Belkin card in a desktop Gateway and the card that came in my other son's Dell desktop earlier this year...All 4 seem to be working well running at the same time
