Not really, I had a 300mhz g3 and a 266mhz and there was only a slight
improvement. I did see some improvement in photoshop filters and 3d
rendering though, I'm guessing attributable to the 1meg cache that someone
else mentioned. I also took a 266 and overclocked it to 292, really wasn't
(to me anyways) much of a perceptible improvement.

Now, when I added a 450mhz g3 from otherworld, I could definetly tell the
difference. 

Does anyone else on the list agree with the notion that it's a good idea to
hold off on processor upgrades until you can double (or more) your speed for
1/3 the price of the upgrade to a new machine?

I read it in a magazine somewhere and have always kept it in my head.
