Out of curiosity, what do you recommend the cut off point on cost be?
Ie, when is it better and more cost effective to stop upgrading a beige g3
and instead grab a used B&W g3 or g4, etc?
Ie, I didn't upgrade my beige g3 (266mhz overclocked to 292 w/83mhz bus, now
300mhz w/normal bus) because I looked at the cost of doubling its speed
(450mhz upgrade, $350) plus upgrading its video (has an ixmicro, but I was
thinking rage128pro or radeon) and it was just prohibitive (came to
something like $570 w/shipping) so I decided to just upgrade to a new comp.
Ie, is there a formula people go buy? Something like its worth upgrading if
you can double/triple the speed for 1/3 of the cost of a new computer?
