Each IDE channel allows two drives. That's 4 total. Minus the original hard
drive (or an upgraded one in its place) and the IDE CD-ROM and you still
have two more drive connections. I've got three IDE (2 HD, 1 CD) and two
SCSI (1 HD, 1 CDR) drives in my machine. There's also a SCSI Zip100 internal
in there. Now most people aren't going to move their machine into an ATX
case to get all those drive bays but it works for me. Another advantage is
that this all works with OSX without a hitch as long as OSX is booting from
a partition within the first 8 gigs of the master drive (ID=0) on either IDE
chain. I've got my boot hard drive for OSX set as master on one chain and my
Apple CD-ROM as master on the other chain. I'd be worried about the Ultratek
card working under OSX. If it does then you're right. It's smarter money
wise to get the card if it's not available from anywhere but eBay at a
highly inflated price.

Preliminary operational tests were inconclusive (the darn thing blew up).
