No offense meant to Doug, but I really think that people are missing the point
on this ROM issue. Those ROM's are going for nearly $150, and that is if you
can even find one. Some users are reporting data loss while using a 2nd drive
in a Rev. A G3 with a ROM upgrade anyway. Why not just spend $75 and get a PCI
card like VST's Ultratek Raid 66??? That would allow you 2 channels on your G3
so that you can add 2 more drives instead of spending 2x as much to add only
one? It makes no sense. I have 2 beige G3's that I use as servers, and both
are running the VST Ultratek Raid 66 card with twin 60gb HD's and I haven't had
a single problem with them.
