Yes thanks, that did occur to me :). We have no free sockets on the 
Switch (it's only a 5 port) and everyone else's ethernet (including 
the one this message was sent over) is working fine. It worked when I 
tried my iBook on it anyway so it's not the switch that is at fault. 
It's the ethernet port on the G4 I think...
