Like the chicken or egg question, I don't think anyone'll ever find an
answer for this one.

Here are a few more reasons for "off"

-Less likely to acquire a virus from an "always on" internet connection

-Power lights and whirring hard drives and fans are noise pollution and
light pollution when I'm trying to sleep.
