See...that's the deal. As my original post indicated, the model 1705 has
what looks like a standard VGA connector (SVGA?) with 15 pins in 3 rows.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough when I said "It has what appears to be a
standard VGA type connector on the back." I was speaking of the back of the
monitor, not the back of the Mac or PC.

So...my question was...can I use a VGA monitor cable, from a VGA monitor,
with VGA connector at both ends, on the Apple 17" model 1705 monitor, which
appears to have a standard VGA connector on the back?
