A typical .ram file  would be 1 line of text, so try to open it with Word,
and you would see something like 
pnm://g2.hosting.com/dotcom/Summertime.rm

It isn't a great deal of help though, as the server won't let you get the
actual .rm file. But the point is if the size of the .ra file is a few
bytes (use "info" on the file) that's what it is, not the actual binary of
the music.

Limewire is a variation on Napster. People use it to "share" files of all
kinds, a lot of MP3 especially.
