It appears that I have made a mistake regarding the above statement. When reading the page at Apple (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75103) I saw at the bottom that when upgrading to 9.1 you must start up from at least 8.5. I took it to mean that you must only have a licence for 8.5. I was wrong, you need a separate licence for 8.0/.1, 8.5/.6 and 9.x.
