<< Trying to identify your logic board revision by your video chip doesnt seem to be useful, as Apple system profiler doesnt tell which video chip you have. >>
Under OS 10.1.4 my Apple System Profiler does tell me what my video card is... here's how: Click on Apple System Profiler icon found under Applications it is a little screw looking icon with some clippers on either side of a computer chip... identify it and open it up. Once open move to devices and volumes index... you'll see two USB outputs a Firewire one directly under Firewire is PCI followed by Slot-A (AGP) and you'll see Display Card with a grey arrow in front of it, just above Hard drive with yet another grey arrow in front of that.... click on the grey arrow in front of "Display Card" what you will see is the following (varies on your Mac setup this is mine) CARD type: display Card name: ATY,Rage 128Pd Card model: ATY,Rage 128Pro Card ROM #: 113-72701-130 Card Revision: 0 Card vendor ID: 1002 There you see... Apple System Profiler, DOES indeed show you what kind of video chip you have inside your Macintosh. If only mine said ATY,Radeon 8500... peace mackidx -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
