Just a quick note on B&W's, there are in-fact two revisions of the Yosemite board. Rev A boards had a problem when using slave hard drives, data could become corrupted during high i/o load.
Rev A boards have Rage 128 graphics cards with Memory/GPU frequencies of 100/75Mhz Rev B boards have Rage 128 graphics cards at 100/100Mhz, boards have heatsink on graphics cards. OSX introduced a fix for the REV A corruption problem. Check out www.xlr8yourmac.com for full details on all board revisions. -----Original Message----- From: Riffes [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 31 May 2002 06:35 To: G-List Subject: Logic Board Revisions (was: Desktop G3 CPU upgrade questions) This is just some of the info from http://www.macgurus.com/beta/showrampage.cgi?mbppcg3desk.html this is an excellent resource, esp if you dont have a manual/user's guide (like me). A nice diagram is a key feature. Thanks macgurus. I've noted the designations of logic board revision as "A,B,C" and "1,2,3" seem to be interchangeable. You can upgrade by buying a revision 2 rom dimm and changing it; they sell for about $45 on eBay I believe- a bit steep. Trying to identify your logic board revision by your video chip doesnt seem to be useful, as Apple system profiler doesnt tell which video chip you have. You CAN determine which video chip you have by knowing your revision, though. My Gossamer rev 1 was originally a 233 mhz. It's now 400 mhz.
