Hi Nick and all; I've rebuilt the desktop and zapped the PRAM with tech tool Pro and did the pram zap with the key combo for 10 bongs because I was having slow startups (ie: from power on to happy Mac). Deleted Finder,Gen.Contro,MacOS and System prefs. This thing seems to have a mind of it's own. The prefs problem seems to have straightened it self out. I just bought this Mac in February from PowerMax so I don't think the battery is out yet. However now a new problem. I've been useing Darkside of the Mac screensaver for a number of years now with no problems. I always found Apples energy saver kind of flakey so I tossed it years ago. However, if I leave my G3 on several hours, (I really don't know how long) this silly thing will go to screensaver then eventually go to sleep. Indicator light on the Mac is blinking. Moving the trackball or pressing any key on the keyboard will wake it up. No energy saver stuff on either HDD.(I have 2). Is it normal for this machine to put itself to sleep? I've never noticed it before. Other than these little glitches, the machine is rock solid and stable with 8.6. No crashes. Even IE doesn't crash. (hehe) I've owned Macs since 1995, but this is my 1st G3 so could this be machine specific? Currently own 3 other Macs, a Performa 6230CD and 2 6360's, all running the same setup. Any help appreciated. TIA
