Well, my two cents worth: I am a long-time Mac user, starting with a IIsi running OS6 when it was new; then I have two PB145s and a 165, all in more or less daily use running OS7.1. The LAN setup is listed below. I wouldn't dream of going back to OS9x on those machines now running 10.1.5; never. I do not find X a major change or mor edifficult to use - or even particularly different - except for the ease of use and lack of crashes. For my part, I happily use the Mailer (foresaking Cyberdog and Eudora), iCab beta, and MarinerWrite Beta. I paid for GraphicConverter and CADIntosh, as well as TypeIt4Me and FeltTipSoundStudio long ago, and they are all available for X. ConfilctCatcher still does its job in Classic; I can still print to the network printer in Classic; DiskWarrior is still up to the job. I use RagTime 5 otherwise in classic for almost everything in the office, and a X version is supposed to upcoming. I find Classic (9.2.2)on the B&W to be at least as stable as 9.1, and I have not found anything of my (partly very aged) classic SW that won't run at least as well as before. . QE 4.1 runs just as well as before, and I don't really need Acrobat any more. MacrosludgeWierd 5.1 runs as well as it ever did, and so does Exel 4. Even Cyberdog runs just a well as ever. And all that without ever crashing, and at a speed never thought possible. That goes for the lowly bondi blue iMac as well, which runs faster than it ever did under 8 or 9, and without crashing - ever. regards, Bill B&WG3/400/OS10.1.5 DSL router> LAN: iMac 233(bondi blue) OS10.1.5 4400/200/G3-350/OS 9.1 WGS8150/110/G3-300/OS 9.1 PB145/OS 7.1 http://www.william-jurgenson.com -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
