I think we all saw the point. He felt our "aged" G3 systems were beneath him. > He spoke up and offered an apology. The apology came off as forced and insincere. >I am actually agreeing with him more than the rest of you. 'Tis your right to do so. > Too many people are whining about "why > won't X.2 support my 9500" and such. Perhaps, but that was not what the original post was about. Kathi wasn't even asking if her present G3 would work well with OS X. She had obviously done some listening and some research on that subject already, as she stated in her message that she'd heard it X would not be faster than 9.2.2 (which is actually true, as so far X has proved to be somewhat slower in many tasks). > No one is stating that a G3 can't be used as a tool to > make beautiful art. It will just take 3 times as long to do it. Actually, it sounded as though that were exactly what Tim was stating. "Also, considering the sheer power of the MODERN Macs, I can't imagine what type of "graphic arts" you do on that little G3 233." There are still people out there using much slower systems. The school I worked at used Color Classics in a student lab up until the time I left. I also worked with a Graphic artist who just recently replaced her aged 7100 with a G4.
