Like Joe's G4, my B&W G3 has problems with not starting up, in spite of
power getting to the logic board. In addition, I have regular traps in
various OS X kernel extentions related to IO busses.

Virtually everything has been eliminated as a suspect except the power
supply and the "new" logic board. The logic board would seem more
likely, due to the traps in IO kernel extensions. I can return that for
a replacement for another couple of weeks. But, before I do, is it
possible this is, at least in part, power supply related?? Any other
suggestions or observations?

A history of this machine follows:

July 2001 - I bought a B&W G3 300 with rev A board and 20 GB Maxtor
drive in place of the OEM. I'm now using Apple Pro keyboard and mouse
and have added an internal zip, Adaptec 2930 card, various USB and
Firewire peripherals, maxed the memory and installed OS X with updates
through 10.1.5. It has a known good PRAM battery.

July 2002 - I installed OWC G4 550 ZIF, after doing the firmware patch,
etc. I set up the new processor in OS 9.2.2, but got Type 7 errors when
trying to run some utility (a cache controller? I don't recall). I gave
up and booted to 10.1.5. The system rans fine for a couple of hours and
I went to sleep.

I awoke 3-4 hours later and it had crashed and wouldn't restart. I
suspected the new processor and replaced it with the G3. It still
doesn't start with G3 (no chimes, perhaps no power to components, I
don't recall). I tried the HD in my G4 at work -- OS X boots and runs
without crashing. I decided my logic board must be fried and bought a
replacement rev B board, but the system still wouldn't start.
Components, such as the HD and CD-ROM, did power up.

August 2002 - After a week or so, I tried to start it again. Still
nothing, so I tried with door open so I could watch the logic board
LEDs. With door open, the system chimed, powered up, worked for a while,
then crashed with a trap in IO HID KEXT. This pattern has continued,
with the system intermittently not starting or trapping in IO HID and/or
USB KEXTs when does start and is left running for more than a few hours.

When It refuses to start, have tried removing everything, including all
USB devices, the Firewire module, the IDE CD, Zip, etc, with no success.
