I suppose I should try it without any USB devices attached. The Yosemite 
board does have ADB, after all. It just seems unlikely that the mouse or 
keyboard would be bad; the mouse is just a year old and the keyboard 
less than that. And, I tried that with the original logic board, which 
was having lots of problems with USB freezes/crashes, but they continued 
even when using only ADB. That's why I got the Apple Pro mouse and KB. 
It was better with them and OS X, but it would still freeze up.

Why would I have problems with USB on 2 different logic boards? Is the 
circuitry that shoddy? Is there any way that relatively subtile, 
intermittent power supply problems could be the root cause? The 'new' 
logic board is under warranty, so money isn't the object. I just don't 
want to go through this again.
