My 'new' G3/400 has a small problem on the CD drive. It's only a little
problem as it doesn't seems to stop the CD drive working but
non-the-less I don't like it.

When spinning a CD at 24x (top whack for this drive) there are
occasional loud 'clicks' followed by a pause in the data transfer and
the drive slows down and spins up again.

Anyone know if it's really bad or just something that will not do much
harm? I don't use the drive for much other than installations and
ripping MP3s so it's not like it's running all the time.
