I cleaned a great deal of cruft out of the machines inside and off of the CD tray when I first got it. Maybe I disturbed the dust and it got onto the lens? I have a lens cleaner somewhere in this hell-hole - I'll give it a once-over with that and see what happens. I would, but I don't have a CD-RW to had :( I'm curious though, how does that make any difference?
